Hon. Amidu Issahaku Chinnia was born on 20th May, 1978 and hails from Bugubelle in Sissala East in the Upper West Region of Ghana. He is a devoted Muslim who is married with children.
Hon Amidu obtained a Teachers Certificate ‘A’ from N.J Ahmadiya College of Education, BSC Agricultural Technology at University of Development Studies (U.D.S), MPhil Horticulture at U.D.S and a Bachelor of Law (LLB) at Central University.
Hon. Amidu has worked in the Ghana Education Service from 2000 to 2017 and served as the Deputy Regional Minister for the Upper West Region from 2017 to 2021. He is currently a Member of Parliament(MP) for Sissala East, having been elected in 2021 under the NPP and also the Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources.
He has had a long history with the NPP, serving as the Assistant Constituency Secretary from 2001-2003, the Constituency Secretary from 2003-2011, and as the NPP Parliamentary candidate for both the 2012 and 2020 elections. Additionally, he was the TESCON President in U.D.S Nyankpala Campus in 2007.
