The Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources (MSWR), in collaboration with all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in Ghana have commemorated the World Cleanup Day with a massive cleanup exercise on Saturday, September 30, 2023.
The Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Hon. Dr. Freda Akosua Prempeh, accompanied by Management and Staff of the Ministry, went round Accra to inspect the work going on and also encouraged people to clean their environment frequently.
The Minister used the occasion to educate people on the need to segregate their refuse and further mentioned that there will be the reintroduction of the Sanitation Guards and Town Council system, to bring to book those who go against the rules and regulations of keeping the environment clean at all times.
The Ministry was supported by Zoomlion and GARID for a successful cleanup exercise.
