H.E. Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo, the President of Ghana has commissioned Community Sewerage Treatment Plant at Ashaiman and Bankuman.

This project is one of the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area Sanitation and Water Project (GAMA-SWP) projects. The main aim is to ensure that low-income peri-urban households have access to safely managed sanitation. These facilities will reduce the risk of infections and enhance the living standards of the beneficiary population in the Ashaiman and Bankuman Communities.

The newly appointed Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Dr. Freda Akosua Prempeh addressed the crowd and acknowledged the excellent work done by her predecessor Hon. Cecilia Abena Dapaah, Management of MSWR, Coordinators on the GAMA Project and Contractors of the Sewerage Treatment Plants.

Also in attendance were the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Deputy Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, MCE’s from Ashaiman and Tema, Technical Engineers, Chiefs of the Ashaiman and Bankuman Communities, Beneficiaries of the Plants, School Children, Members from the Community and the Security Services.
