Presentation of PPEs to the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources

The Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources today received various set of Personal Protective Equipments from World Vision Ghana and UNICEF.

The items donated to the Government through the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources was aimed at supporting the efforts of Government in the fight against the COVID 19 disease in the Country.

The Director of Finance at the World Vision Office in Accra Madam Mercy Nuleyan presented the items on behalf of World Vision at the cost of 155,600 CEDI’s, whiles Madam. Anne Claire Dufay, the Country Representative of UNICEF made the presentation on behalf of her Agency,totalling 600,000 Cedis worth of items.

The sector Minister Hon Cecilia Abena Dapaah received the items on behalf of Government.

She commended the two Agencies for the kind gesture in supporting the government.

She said the donation of the items was a further demonstration of the cordial relationship between the Government and the two Agencies towards a common goal.

She stated that the government will not relent in its fight to ensure every part of the Country is provided with Sanitation facilities.

Hon Cecilia Abena Dapaah indicated that since 2017, the Country has not recorded any case of cholera and this she attributed to the provision of Sanitation facilities .

She mentioned in particular the provision of 30,000 Household toilets in the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area ,targeting the poor and the vulnerable.

The sector Minister hoped there would be more cooperation between the government and the two Agencies.

Present at the program were the two Deputy Ministers Hon.Patrick Boamah(MP) and Hon. Michael Gyato(MP) as well as the Chief Director Mr.Noah Tumfo and other Senior Staff of the Ministry.
