Ministerial Working Visit to Ashiaman and Bankuman by Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources

The sector Minister for sanitation and water resources Hon Cecilia Abena Dapaah has paid an official working visit to Ashiaman and Bankuman in the Tema Municipality

The working visit was to enable the sector Minister inspect ongoing drainage and sewerage projects in these two Municipalities .

The projects are being constructed by the GAMA Sanitation and Water Project.

The Ashiaman Sewerage Network project involves the construction of a new simplified sewerage network for the Ashiaman New town Community and the rehabilitation of existing sewerage network in Team Development Corporation Quarters.

Approximately, 4,800 house holds covering over 24,000 people will benefit from the project.

The Bankuman Simplified Sewerage Project involves the laying of new collector sewer lines, rehabilitation of existing trunk sewer lines and the construction of new sewerage treatment plant to connect people in the Bankuman Community.

Approximately 800 household covering over 6,000 people will benefit from the project when completed.

The sector Minister Hon Cecilia Abena Dapaah was conducted round the project sites by the Project Consultants and the GAMA Project Coordinator Ing. George Asiedu.

The sector Minister commended the consultants and the workers for the progress of work so far and hoped they would be completed as scheduled.

She was hopeful that the projects when completed would bring great relief to the beneficiary communities and put an end to the sanitation challenges experienced in the affected areas.

The Consultants on their part thanked the Sector Minister for the visit and promised to complete the work by the scheduled date.

The Minister was accompanied by a host of media personnel.

The official entourage of the Minister included the Chief Director of the Ministry, Mr. Noah Tumfo, the GAMA Project Coordinator Ing. George Asiedu and officers from both the Ministry and the GAMA project.
